Lucky Handphone number

Bukit Merah - This single man in his forties was never a fan of Singapore Sweep. His favourite game is 4D and he likes going to the Pools outlet at Bukit Merah View because he feels it is lucky. One fateful day, he was at his favourite outlet buying his 4D number when he spotted a Singapore Sweep ticket containing all the digits of a relative’s handphone number. It was such a coincidence that he felt he had to buy the ticket. This coincidence proved to be his lucky charm. He could not believe it when he checked the internet and found he had won the Singapore Sweep top prize of $2 million with only one ticket! This clerk is now a Sweep fan and will probably use his winnings to invest in a property and treat his parents to a well-deserved holiday.

Lucky from the middle

Tampines - This resident from Tampines is a happy man. Retired after working many years as an administrative staff, his children are all grown up, have good jobs and with families of their own. He has been a loyal Sweep fan for many years despite not having won any big prizes. He doesn’t believe in ‘lucky’ outlets, but he has one particular habit for luck. He likes to pick a middle ticket amongst the stack; and his formula has proven fruitful for him. As for what he will do with his winnings, he said with a smile “It will give me something to think about”.

Lucky Numbers for Toto

Hougang Ave 7 – This coffee shop assistant does not believe in chasing numbers. If it is not drawn out, it is simply not lucky. His lucky formula is to match winning 4D numbers into a Toto combination. Now in his fifties, he has been buying Toto for many years. He has this gut feel that this formula would work for him. As luck would have it, his winning formula won him over $1.5 million in the Toto draw on 18 June 2007. He checked the results on the teletext after work on the draw date itself and was so excited he could not sleep. What will he do with his winnings? He intends to buy his dream house in his hometown in Malaysia.

Sweep Lucky Draw Winner

This gentleman in his early forties was all smiles when he came to collect his $10,000 prize money. A long time fan of 4D, he was never much of a Sweep customer. He only bought Sweep if the mood strikes him. He decided to buy a few Sweep tickets this round because it was new. Little did he expect to win the lucky draw. Equally excited, his wife said she used to wonder if winners were real, but is now convinced. This gentleman has already decided what he wants to do with his winnings - buy his wife a Rolex watch!

A lucky lady

Ang Mo Kio - This single lady in her late thirties never won anything big in her life. Out of work for a nearly a year, she just had a fresh start with a new clerical job. She was thrilled when she won a small prize at Singapore Pools and on collecting her prize, decided to treat herself to another little flutter. Never did she dream that her $1 Toto Quickpick would win her a $3million fortune. With life safely back on track, her priorities are to share her good fortune with her family and make donations to temples.

A Family Man

Woodlands - Recently retired from the military, this gentleman in his fifties is a contented man. His children are financially independent and his wife's business is humming along. Having worked all his life, he now enjoys a comfortable life living off his retirement benefits. He indulges in a lottery ticket now and then, buying from his favourite outlet in Woodlands whenever inspiration strikes. One day, when he went to buy a 4D number, he found that the number had sold out. "Well," he said, "I was going to spend $3 anyway. What would you suggest?" The lady at the counter suggested a Singapore Sweep ticket. So he bought one even though he rarely played the Sweep. As luck would have it, that ticket won him a cool $2million. So what will he do with his winnings? Well, he intends to invest in his wife's business and maybe help his children start their own businesses.

A Working Man

West Coast Drive - This winner of Toto Draw 2221 is one hardworking gentleman. He has worked all his life and even in his fifties, he doesn't intend to retire. He was so busy with work that he only found out he won six days after the draw. This man has always been very thrifty as well. He spends about $1 - $2 each time he is inspired by a number. In fact, the winning ticket was the first time he ever bought a System 7 ticket. Even after winning over $1.5million, this feisty gentleman says he has no plans to retire and will work as long as his company wants him. He plans to use his winnings to provide for his family when he retires.

A Very Lucky Man

Northbridge Road - This is the biggest lottery winner in Singapore Pools' 39 years of history. This man in his late twenties was the sole winner of over $6.5million in the cascade draw held on 24 May 2007. This lucky gentleman is an occasional lottery buyer. He only buys when the jackpot is large or when he feels lucky. The Toto jackpot had rolled over to $6.5million and this man decided to place a small wager. Luck certainly found him when his ordinary Quickpick became the winning numbers. The married man enjoys his work in the sales line and does not plan to retire early. He has no plans for his winnings but added that he would definitely look at good causes to donate to and maybe, indulge his family.

Study Abroad

Yishun - It was another late day at the office. As she came through the door, she saw brochures of overseas universities in the trash bin. She had spoken to her daughter the night before, explaining that the family simply could not afford to send her overseas for her tertiary education. It was the toughest thing she had done. She knew her daughter had dreams of becoming a vet since she was a little girl. The mother in her forties sighed as she finally made time to check her lottery tickets. Her husband had dutifully clipped the past 3 months' draw results from the newspapers and reminded her of the expiry deadline of 90 days for the Sweep tickets. Checking the numbers on her last ticket as she prepared to thrash the others, her heart started to pound. The numbers matched! She had won! Moments later, and still stunned, she retrieved the brochures from the trash bin. With $2 million prize money, her daughter's dream could finally come true.

A Happy Man Tanjong Pagar

The gentleman in his late seventies is a happy and contented man. A retired professional with three grown children with lives of their own, he keeps himself busy with a full social calendar. Everyday, he catches up with friends and buddies all over Singapore. They'd chat over a cup of coffee and go for meals together. On the way to his appointments, he would sometimes place a $2 bet on Toto when the mood seized him. This retiree is now $1.5 million happier. Aside from a dinner celebration with his family, this gentleman is still thinking of meaningful ways to use his winnings.

Pooling 10 persons’ luck

iToto winner - This elderly retiree in his seventies rarely buys the lottery as he does not consider himself lucky. Once in a while, however, he would try his hand at Toto. He was not particularly keen when he first heard of the $5 million Mooncake Draw, that is until he learnt about iToto that allows ten persons to share a System 12 ticket at a fraction of the price. "10 persons sharing a ticket means pooling 10 persons' luck together" reasoned this retiree. So he queued up and bought himself an iToto ticket. And as luck would have it, this man finally won the lottery!

Give it a shot

iToto winner - This manager in the shipping industry was not much of a Toto player. He knew he was a lucky man, having won 4-D many times before, but he felt the odds of winning Toto were just too remote. He was intrigued when his colleague told him about iToto which cost only one-tenth the price of a System 12 ticket. He was ready to give it a shot. He made his way to different outlets and bought into different shares of iToto. It seemed that his luck in 4-D held sway for Toto too. He won not just one but a few winning shares in the iToto tickets he bought.
